The level one transportation managers get the highest salary and the level five managers get the lowest salary. However, the salary of transportation managers is considered to be very good. In addition to a good salary, they also get several benefits from the organizations that employ them.

Transportation managers must undergo the required training. This is necessary for enabling them to develop good engineering and management skills which are very important for effective functioning. This training can also be provided by the organizations who hire these managers. In this, most managers have to undergo on the job training. On the other hand, organizations many also require that these managers get training from an outside source.

A transportation manager has various career development prospects. He may even be promoted to a higher position in the organization if he works well. Also these managers may even start their own transportation company or become expert advisers on how to handle transportation.
