Ambulances are not just for emergencies anymore! As more and more technological advances are made in the medical field, the elderly, disabled and health-compromised are living longer, more fulfilling lives. Due to their health needs, many of these people reside in skilled nursing or assisted living communities and require regular trips to their local hospitals for testing and treatment. This had brought about resurgence in careers in hospital patient transport.

At the same time, transportation jobs are on an upswing. Many people obtain their Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with dreams of taking a transport job, be it in long-haul trucking or small local delivery. However, these jobs carry with them many inconveniences and lack the fulfillment of a hospital patient transport career.

When people think of CDL jobs or careers in delivery driver jobs, thoughts almost automatically turn to long-distance trucking or courier jobs. Instead, why not focus on a hospital patient transport job? Truck driver employment has always been sketchy at best, with payment depending on swift moving of perishable goods. Delivery driver jobs deal with long hours and early morning. Transportation jobs that involve moving hospital patients from home to clinics or care centers carry regular hours and good pay, and don't involve the isolation and stress of most driver jobs.

Transportation careers are rewarding and fulfilling; drivers bring home a regular paycheck, all the while knowing they are helping someone to receive the medical care that they need! Truck driver employment doesn't offer that sort of fulfillment, and neither do most Commercial Drivers License jobs. Delivery driver jobs offer only aches and pains in early mornings.

Transport jobs offer a lot to those who don't see themselves at a nine to five desk job or standing on their feet all day in retail. CDL drivers can qualify to drive vans, buses and even non-emergency transporter ambulances for transport jobs involving hospital patients. What truck driver employment opportunities can offer a position that would lead a driver to be viewed as a hero? The answer is simple: None!
