SUMMARY
Bering Global Solutions, LLC
a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation,
is seeking an experienced, DC metro area based, Logistics Coordinator in support of the Department of State’s Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) International Police Peacekeeping Operations Support (IPPOS) program.
The requirement is to support U.S. government efforts to enhance the operational effectiveness of police in peacekeeping operations. The goal of this program is to improve the capacity of partner countries to generate, train, deploy, and lead effective police officers and units in UN Peacekeeping missions by providing capacity-building support and specialized training.
The IPPOS program has a multi-pronged approach:
Build institutional sustainability to improve the management, logistical, and administrative capacities that contribute to high-quality deployments.
Collaborate with UN Police Division to improve doctrine, develop UN training standards for police, and certify UN instructors.
Train FPU commanders, FPU mechanics, and FPUs in areas that include, but are not limited to, leadership, firearms, VIP protection, and equipment maintenance.
Develop local training staff and mentor them as they deliver UN required pre-deployment training to Formed Police Units (FPUs) and Individual Police Officers (IPOs).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Logistics Coordinator will provide support to the Program Manager and Mobile Trainers in the field to fulfill the IPPOS task order objectives
Specific duties include:
Coordinate all logistics, travel and life support, including lodging, per diem, transportation to/from airports, international airfare, visas, immunizations, DBA and medical evacuation insurance, for deployed personnel.
Provide administrative support for all IPPOS activities
Maintain all contract equipment; inventory, track, ship, procure
Provide reach back support for deployed personnel
May be required to travel to developing country or post-conflict environments
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
Must have at least 5 or more years of professional experience
Must have at least 2 years of program experience working on a U.S. government contract with overseas operations
Must demonstrate experience in general planning, evaluating, analyzing, and implementing government programs
Experience supporting a field based foreign assistance project
Experience with inventory tracking
Ability to take initiative
Independently analyze and recommend solutions for challenges in a fast paced environment
Detail oriented
Reliable personal transportation
Ability to receive and maintain a Public Trust clearance
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with law enforcement training
Experience working with Department of State and specifically INL

Work is CONUS based, however, may require travel to and within countries with security, health, and other potentially dangerous conditions.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS
As a condition of employment, may be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background check results to obtain access to military base. Must have reliable transportation to/from work a necessity and must be able to obtain access to military installations.
