SUMMARY: This position is responsible for leading a network strategy team by creating Transportation network solutions that enhance Tyson’s Inbound and Outbound cost and service performance. This position is responsible for securing current and future transportation capacity for over 1 million annual shipments and $1.5 billion annualized Transportation spend. This position will drive creative solutions to determine the most optimal utilization and deployment strategies for our 1500 company owned and dedicated assets, along with the assets of over 200 Contract Carriers. This position will lead efforts in working with key Business Unit leadership in Poultry, Prepared Foods and Fresh Meats to adjust to dynamic network changes to ensure we have capacity solutions to meet business demands.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
Achieving financial objectives and other key departmental metrics as defined; applying continuous improvement methods to satisfy all capacity, service and cost objectives for internal and external customers; Create and Manage Dynamic Routing Guide for operational Execution for operational execution that optimizes our Transportation network; lead all efforts in identifying demand requirements and leading sourcing efforts to satisfy that demand through network Request For Proposal’s; provide economic insights and forecasting of freight expenditures to Business Unit leadership, enabling business unit Annual Operating Plan planning for future risk and opportunity; developing risk mitigation strategies for all supply and cost risks while managing overall department freight performance associated with all inbound and outbound Transportation needs.
REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
EXPERIENCE: 8 years of experience with Supply Chain preferred.
COMPUTER/ANALYTICAL SKILLS: Strong systems and analytical skills is essential. Network modeling experience preferred.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Must demonstrate excellence in both verbal and written skills. Must have demonstrated skills being able to influence team, business unit and cross functional leaders.
SUPERVISORY: This position has direct reports with similar responsibilities supporting Poultry, Prepared Foods and Fresh Meats Business Units.
TRAVEL: 1-5 trips per year.
