As the Specialist, Operations, you will serve as the daily point of contact and relationship manager to XPO's key carriers. You will also farm strategic carriers for our value-added solutions, maintain carrier relationships, and work with other XPO team members to deliver superior service. What you'll do on a typical day:
Act as advocate and liaison for XPO's top carriers to ensure customer satisfaction; put carriers' interests first at all times
Expand sales with current carrier clients
Collaborate with team members to secure the terms of sale including fuel cards, ELD, permits, factoring, tires and maintenance
Negotiate rates, services and other revenue-producing services
Cultivate a core book of business for consistent and repeatable sales; maintain a strong understanding of the industry and client needs
Update internal reporting systems to maintain accuracy in sales and volume
What you need to succeed at XPO:
At a minimum, you'll need:
1-year sales experience
It'd be great if you also have:
Bachelor's degree
3+ years of experience in transportation or a high-volume sales environment
Strong leadership skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure; use whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
Self-motivated and able to work well with minimal supervision or in a team environment
Excellent negotiation skills to deal effectively with individuals and groups within and outside the organization
Ability to utilize a variety of interpersonal styles and communication methods to effectively adapt to new work structures, processes or cultures
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to present clean, organized and thorough information and data appropriate for intended audience
Strong attention to detail and follow-up skills with ability to identify and resolve problems
