Stampede Ventures, Inc. is seeking a Truck Foreman at Nome, Alaska. This position will be responsible for obtaining and scheduling work, supervising drivers and mechanic, ensuring safety, analyzing staff performance and to keep the operation running efficiently and accident free. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Strong leadership skills, ability to mentor staff and coordinate/dispatch all drivers in assigned
field area.
Ensure all drivers have Safety Training in handling materials and operating company equipment.
Ensure all assigned drivers have been trained in the organization’s policies and procedures.
Audit driver’s logbooks, trip reports, and time sheets daily before submitting.
Participates in all incident investigations. Responds to operational emergencies involving
accidents, spills, etc.
Daily observation of field activities and operations.
Safety inspections of trucks and trailers.
Identify, address, and document driver performance issues.
Supervises all employees assigned to specific location; is responsible for the overall direction,
coordination and evaluation of this location.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and
procedures.
Responsible for appraisal of employee performance, rewarding and disciplinary actions of
employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Effectively communicate with all drivers, and other field employees.
Flexibility required to work additional hours and/or any shift as needed when asked within reason
to help meet the needs of the company.
Ensure all employees and equipment are in D.O.T. compliance.
Must be able to evaluate road and weather conditions and adjust schedules accordingly.
Assist with other project tasks as assigned..

Job Requirements :
Required:
High School Diploma or GED.
5-10 years experience in the transportation field.
Current CDL Class A License, HAZMAT endorsed or equivalent experience helpful.
Bus endorsement preferred.
At least five (5) years of supervisory experience is desired.
Clean driving record.
Must meet citizenship requirements to work in the state of Alaska and the United States.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledgeable and experience in operating within the guidelines of DOT, OSHA, ASI and other
regulatory agencies.
Ability to communicate both orally and writing with internal and external clients and co-workers.
Ability to comply with all relevant US traffic laws and regulations.
Ability to comply with OSHA safety standards.
Ability to perform essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations and limited supervision.
Must be a steady, reliable worker.
Must be able to perform tasks independently after being given specific instructions.

Essential and marginal functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for bending, stooping, sitting, walking or standing for prolonged periods of time; working requirements are a combination of maintenance shop activities which require lifting, handling or moving up to 75 lbs, working in on top of or beneath vehicles or equipment on jacks/stands; and office settings for data entry and reporting. Proper wearing of Personal Protective Equipment is essential along with hearing protection when required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work Environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be borne by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
The work described herein is primarily active, performed in a maintenance shop setting. Walking and climbing will be required at work sites. The work environment involves risks or discomforts that require specific safety precautions typical of such places as vehicle and maintenance shop environments.
Work occurs mostly outdoors in all types of weather and field conditions such as rain, fog, snow, mud, and cold weather. Occasionally exposed to long periods of dust and bad weather, climbing over rough terrain under various weather conditions. Frequent hand and arm movements required to operate the truck in difficult terrain. Near visual acuity to drive and ability to hear and understand speech
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises truck driving staff.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS
As a condition of employment, may be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background check results to obtain access to military base. Must have reliable transportation to/from work.
